So what do you all think of the BCS bowl picks? I think its just going to be a bunch of blowouts, i mean even the national chamionship has a chance to be one. I am also shocked that Kansas got in and Mizzou is out. I for one think we should get rid of the BCS, but thts a topic for a different thread lol. below are the bowl games and my predictions as well; just express opinions, your own picks, and/or comments :
LSU vs. Ohio State
Prediction: LSU wins by 2 td's
I choose LSU for several reasons.. One it like a home game for them and there crowd will rock that stadium sending the buckeyes home without a W once agian. Also senior leadership from their Qb Matt Flynn (expected to play even though somewhat banged up) will definetely be a factor. There backup Ryan Perrilloux isnt bad either and both will give matchup problems for the buckeyes
Also LSU's running back is a stud with over a 1000 yd's rushing and 11 td's on the season Jacob Hester will bring a formidable running game. Last is the gutsy coaching of Les Miles. If the Buckeyes are going to win then Todd Boeckman (2171 yds and 23 td's) and Chris Wells (1463 and 14 td's) will need to have big games. And the defense of the Buckeyes will have to be on lock down the entire game. One Factor is both these coaches know how to win in close games so it will be interesting to see which prevails if its a close game.
Illinois vs. USC
Prediction: USC in a blowout win. In my opinion noone is playing better football then USC. Key players are John Booty Qb of USC (2106 yd's and 20 td's and only 9 int's), Fred Davis a big fast tight end (55 catches and 7 td's), and there freshman running back Joe McKnight who can be the big play guy that they've lacked for most of the season. For the Illini to win they must have great defense, establish a running game, and play a near perfect game. Key players for Illinios are: Juice Williams there Qb who had a subpar season (1498 yd's 13 td's), and Rashard Mendenhall there running back (1526 yds and 16 td's) who they need to get going early if they hope to win.
Kansas vs. Virginia Tech
Prediction: Virginia Tech in a landslide. After seeing them get past Boston college theres no doubt in my mind that they will de-feather the Jayhawks. With the Jayhawks strenght of schedule they might as well be known as the chicken-hawks. If Kansas does hope to win then they will need there star qouarterback Todd reesing (3259 yds and 32 with only 6 picks) and Brandon McAnderson (1050 yds and 16 td's). All virginia Tech needs to do is go out and execute like they have been with Qb Sean Glennon (1636 11 td's and 3 int's) and one of my favortie runningbacks Brandon Ore (876 and 8 td's)
Hawaii vs. Georgia
Prediction: Georgia over Hawaii in a closer game than people would think. I say this because if Hawaii can keep Georgias offense off the field they have a good chance at pulling off an upset. With that being said I dont think it willl happen, however, I love watching Hawaii's Qb Colt Brennan (4174 yds and 38 td's) play, but i dont think there gonna pull a Boise State against Georgia no matter how much people are trying to compare the two matchups. I think if Qb Matthew Staffford (2348 yds and 18 td's) comes out and gets to work along with Georgia's runningback Knowshon Moreno (1273 yds and 12 td's) there gonna come out with a W. Georgia's key to victory is to stop Colt Brennan as Hawaii's run game is pitiful.
West Virginia vs. Oklahoma
Prediction: As much as i wanted to see a WV, OSU national championship WV went and lost the backyard bawl...errr...brawl. I beleive even with West Virginia's Qb Pat White (1548 yds and 14 td's), Wr Darius Reynaud (691 yds and 11 td's), under appreciated Fb Owen Schmitt, and runningback Steve Slaton (1053 yds and 17 td's) (dont forget Noel Devine probably the fastest kid in my opinion on WV) Oklahoma will stomp on them.I think Oklahoma's biggest break isnt the Pat white injury, but the fact that they didnt have to play Hawaii. Lastly Sam Bradford (2879 yds 34 td's and 7 Int's) OU's Qb will go to town on the atrocious passing defense of WV.
