Sometimes these branch forums had substantial user bases with qj mods and the like but they still failed for the simple reason that they were md centric. A forum based off of certain "leet" members from another doesn't work, it becomes almost a centrally off topic forum where all they do is discuss whats on the main forum. Without a blog, without a topic for it to based on rather than chat, there will be no source for new members. New members are the lifeblood of a forum even for /md/ lurkers. It'll likely be dead in a month. Apart from the odd post from pspunk that is.

How many of those spin off forums had exclusive homebrew releases lined up?

We also have huge news incoming but it's not finalised yet, lets just say it'll open up ********** to a community outside of QJ.

********** is doing pretty well ive got to say, gonna be better once they finalise everything.
