as of 2005 (the most recent released figures)
deaths fit together like this
2% murder by police (referred to by AP as "legal killings")
other interesting facts...
suicidal people are 3 to 5 times more likely to own guns.
and suicide "attempters" usually become suicide "accomplishers" when they live with guns (because guns have a higher success rate than pills, bridge jumping and razorblades combined)
these statistics aren't a new trend either, for the past 25 years 20 of the years had a 50% or higher suicide rate
so now basically "gun grabbers" are now talking about taking away guns not to protect innocents, but to infringe upon mans god given right to interrupt the process of living.
personally, i consider suicide to be a life choice, if you really want to discontinue life that bad, thats you choice and good for you, if you are someone i care about, i might try to convince you other wise, but thats only because i don't want to miss you, so if i don't know you i really see know problem with it.
therefore i say keep guns, besides when guns where taken away in DC suicide success went down, and suicide attempts went up, which i disapprove of, nothing pisses me off like a suicide "attempt". an attempt means, yea i could go all the way and kill myself, but instead, i'm just going to do something to draw alot of attention to myself.
