Woop.
Now for today in history class we are going to talk a full 90 minutes about the elections.
Oh shi-
Anyway,
I'm happy Obama won.
We had a mock election at my school yesterday and Obama ended up winning by 93%. Then today when Obama won everyone was cheering and so greatful that he did. So I asked some people why they were so happy and they told me that Obama would change america. then when I asked how he planned to do that, not a single person could tell me what he planned to change. it seems to me like everyone got on this change bandwagon but really have no idea what they were talking about. but thats just me
When all you quote is the most conservative media sources on the planet, yes, they're illegitimate.
Yes, MSNBC has a few extremely liberal talking heads. The difference between MSNBC and Fox News is that EVERYONE on Fox News is a conservative talking head, and they've even been told what to say by the Bush white house.
If you can't find a more moderate source (e.g. CNN) then your sources aren't legitimate.
It's funny that reality seems to have a liberal bias ;)
Anyways, shouldn't you be filling out a Canadian immigration form?
Lol my government teacher had us watch obama's entire victory speech today. The mccain people sure weren't too happy...
I watched Zeitgeist movie recently...
This whole election thing and the media brainwashing people..
makes me wonder...what's going to happen?
That's cause your arguments suck. Just like the crap the McCain campaign put out there. You barely talked about why you should vote for McCain, but rather focused on the topic of why Obama isn't fit to lead with examples such as, "he supports abortion, people who support abortion are disgusting murderers" and "The Koran says lying is okay", meaning that you somehow think Obama is a muslim and that somehow relates to him being a terrorist. All of that is garbage.
the only brainwashing is zeitgeist itself
its total crap
all 3 segments
with the only remotely factual one being the 9/11 one, and he only points out **** people before had said there
first segment is a rip off of a book thomas paine wrote in the 1790's called the age of reason most of it has been disproven, what hasn't been disproven captain zeitgeist made up, or misquoted.
last segment is extremely far reaching
yes all money is on loan to you
but were not enslaved by that loan
besides
the nature of government is slavery to begin with
read some orwell fiction, it contains more facts than zeitgeist does
back on topic we watched both speeches
McCain made a very classy speech. It was classy enough to the point where the people at the Obama rally cheered for it. What disturbed me was the fact that the crowd at the McCain rally started booing when McCain just mentioned Obama. I think people need to have more self control than that. I know losing an election is no fun, I've seen the democrats lose two elections in my lifetime, but don't be a sore loser. To boo the winning candidate during a speech on nation television just shows the lack of class for those that attended the McCain rally. McCain shouldn't of needed to quiet the crowd down 5 times, they should know better.
Looking at the differences between the two speeches, McCain's speech felt redundant at times, I felt it should of ended 5 minutes earlier. Regardless, the content was very good. It showed great sportsmanship. As for the presentation of the speech, it's not as good as Obama's. Obama emphasizes his important words and alters the speed of his speech depending on how important that part of the speech is. It seems like McCain just has one tone and goes with it. Also, what really captured me was the 106 year old lady from Georgia part of the speech. It really showed me that things can change no matter how absurd it may seem. People 50 years ago, let alone 100 years ago would of never dreamed of the day where there would be a black president. But that 106 year old woman saw it all (even the Cubs' last World Series championship xD) and she was able to witness that change. It just goes to show that any change is possible as long as we try. And Obama hit it right on the head when he said that change might take a long time to come forth, and it will. There won't be drastic changes right away, he's not going to be FDR. However, what he can do is lay the foundations of change. Like he said, it might take a year, two years, or even a whole term, but what matters is that we need to start to change. And yesterday's election is evidence that change is possible and that we can all accept it.
Like I said, please dear god don't come here. You aren't welcome.
Go to Iceland or something.
Now I'm in a Facebook argument with some stupid freshman who keeps claiming that her family will be heavily taxed when they clearly do not have a high enough income for Obama's plan to take effect.
One final "Palin is a ****ing idiot" proof:
she didn't know Africa was a continent, not country.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/1..._n_141653.html
also, to quote that article "not only did she not understand that Africa was a continent rather than a single country but also that during debate prep Palin was unable to name all the nations in North America."
Edit: whoops. missed slasher's post above me.
A White Sox fan in the White House. That puts the cherry on the sundae for me.
Yeah. Let's all be ferocious human beings and forget that poor people are indeed people. Meanwhile, we'll go buy big yachts and jets so we can enjoy our life to the fullest extent while poor people (who supposedly aren't even people) can't find a home or get their sickness taken care of. Aren't we all great humanitarians?
Yes we can.
Yes we did.
Yes we will.
And yes, I thought McCain's concession speech was incredibly ingratiating and statesmanlike. I hope he keeps his promise of doing his best to help President Obama (:)) lead wisely.
First and foremost... what's your super-secret plan for catching Osama?
Same for Palin, she was just as honorable as McCain. But anyway, I can't wait until January..Gonna go to the inauguration with my sister and some friends!
Palin was not as honorable as McCain, are you joking? She kept on making references to Obama and terrorism after they lost the election.
And the RNC had to send lawyers to Alaska to take back the clothes she was "donating to charity" under threat of a lawsuit because she had no intention of parting with them.
Well, I just saw a clip on the news about her talking about him getting elected..She was positive about it at that moment in time. And yeah, I've seen all the bs she said about him "palling around with terrorists" and such, and it makes me happy they lost the election being the liars that they were.
I am glad obama won... and if Mccain won I would only fear having a stupid VP.
Oh, and please post that video of Palin.
Agreed.
mccains pretty old so she defenately would have become the prez.
I wouldve killed my self.
And obviously she doesnt care if you say racist comments at her rallies
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9T0FI2axbU
She didnt even know africa was a continent and can see russia from her house.
