Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Delayed 8 Months
The movie for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was delayed for eight months, from a November '08 release to July '09. Warner Brothers said that the movie was done and probably just needed some extra editing here and there. The only reason that they pushed it back was because they think that they'll make more money with a summer release. But hey, if the movie's done, does Warner Brothers really think that it'll last eleven months without being leaked onto the internet? I'm sure that the movie will be completely done by the end of the year and Warner Brothers will just keep copies of it sitting around until July, which I doubt will last too long without getting leaked (and I'm sure that it'll be a great quality leak, too ;)).
I don't know what to think about it, really, if it weren't for the delay, we would've had to wait two years for the next movie after seeing this one. I think that Warner Brothers should just change the release schedule all together, keeping Half-Blood Prince for November '08, releasing Death Hallows Part I in the summer of '10, then Death Hallows Part I in the summer of '11.
If you want to try to get Warner Brothers to change it back, I found a petition to bring the movie back to it's original date that's doing really well with over 6k petitions in 24 hours. If we can somehow manage to reach 100k (which might not be as hard as it sounds), I'm sure Warner Brothers might reconsider their choice. You can find it here (BTW, I didn't start it):
