Ok so i have photoshop now and i am jumping into vectoring head first.
This is my first try ever at vectoring an image.
It sucks really bad, but i just wanted to ask if anyone had any tips for me.
I have read a crapload of tutorials about it but none seem to really help.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.
Please keep in mind that this is the first time i have ever tried this and it's a work in progress so the image is not complete.
I will be getting a Wacom Bamboo Fun soon!
I can't freaking wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well tutorials do help, believe it or not...
And look at some pen tool tutorials, those can really help with everything that does with vectoring.
And all i can say is, practice makes perfect.
Thank you very much.
It's really freaking hard to do.
I am working on my pen tool skills right now.
here is something that really easy that will improve the images, when working with things like eyes, you dont need to trace it, cause as you see you get really choppy circles. Instead use the circle tool to make clean and perfect circles. :] also i would try diff colors, i know you want to make it look as human as possible when it comes to vector colors, but on vectors they are weird, try darker more pale colors...
oh and another problem is your kinda rushing it, like the hair has very visable lines where you made the points, remember that the more points you make between any 2 sides the smother and nicer and better it will look, slow down and try to fit in as many points as possible in between.
Awesome thank you guys sooooo much.
heres the best way to "jump" into vectors though
find a bunch of already vectored images or cartoons (like megaman renders or stuff of that sort) and vector those. Because they are already vectors/cartoons you dont need to worry about colors, lines with be distinct and obvious and you will learn how to do it better. Compare your final product to the original and see what you need to improve and finally when you think you got the hang of it try people.
I was starting to doubt myself at it, but i think if i keep trying i might get better.heh:tup:
yeah im not exactly good at vectors since i never really picked it up, but madsoul and skyline are so see if you can find them on the forums
but this is still some generally good advice
Yeah, thanks a million for the info.
I was already thinking to try to vector cartoons first as opposed to humans.
My main problem is i have no experience at this at all and i am trying to jump in head first.
Again thank you for the information i really appreciate it.
Well i mean for your first time, ill admit it isn't bad, but Deturb's right.
There used to be a site called vexels that would help, but they like closed that one, so if you want you can check out deviantart.
Hes pretty good at vectoring, so you could kinda use his stuff as like a template since he uses really smooth curves.
Cool man thanks for the complement. :)
It really is my first time, so it makes me feel good to hear that.
And thank you as well for the information.
