If it's being changed to four characters, can I have mine changed from "Eran." to "Eran"?
I'll be joining in a few. This place has become boring and dead.
Just a thought though, beside better ownership then previous qj spinoff sites (koolio or w/e he went by) why will this one last?
I obviously think it will because of better ownership but so far no spinoff site of qj has gone on for long at all.
Reasons ********** will last IMO:
1) It'll be just like QJ, but more of a user friendly environment with less dictatorship.
2) We (the moderation/admin team) will not disappear, and will continue to visit/update the site
3) QJ has never been as bad as it now is. The decent users of this site need somewhere else to go. We are unsure of how long these forums will continue to be hosted by QJ as the site is currently making a loss. We are moving before it gets closed down.
Yeah, I was just reading some stuff from abe on there. Looks a hell of a lot better than any previous site.
**** QJ im off.
Lol, we don't want people like you there anyway.
Nah it was me.
And my ****....
Nobody is saying that the QJ users ruined the site.. the owners have. Anyways, I don't know you that well so I'm not going to try to convince you of anything; if you get bored some day then look us up.
EDIT:.. I can't read numbers, thx Freeplay :)
I registered, and finally going to get to use my old name again, yay.
I'm not going to name any names but I noticed you seem to have certain moderators on your forum that exist on QJ. And these mods, IMO contributed to some of the problems QJ has today.
I will probably still join but I personally don't think we are going to see any real changes unless these certain moderators are taught how to organize a forum properly. (Check out the mess that is the PS3 hacking forum - At least 2-3 locked threads per page!)
There are loads of other examples of poor structure/information and moderation on the forum, it's just that the PS3 section seems easiest to pick on.
honestly, i don't expect ********** to take off that well
my original ***** with it was that, it was ran by the same staff, but i now realize you guys had no ability to shape policy
so thats not it
i do think it's masquarading as something it isn't though
namely the front page and several sections
the homebrew community won't be coming with us
so any attempts to accomadate them should be removed
also i'm not going to lie
having the only word censor be the n-word strikes me as racist on its own
besides all this
all qj spinoffs eventually die
look at leak
and the banned club
and that **** bundy did
while i do commend the moderating staff for telling the owners to **** off like us TCCC'ers did years ago,
its too little too late
however i will still support this forum.
I would like to add, I'm not blaming the moderators personally, I am just pointing out that there is lack of proper guidelines and organization on QJ atm, therefore moderators feel they can go around "enforcing" their own attitude/rules but at the same time not really taking into account why people are breaking these rules in the first place and how they could prevent people from making the same mistake.
Therefore I see a relaxed approach as not a good idea, perhaps you should think about using a more common sense approach to the new forum in terms of organization.
I do agree with a more relaxed approach to moderators attitudes. particularity attitudes towards new users need to get sorted out.
What QJ needs is a new staff, except for NeilR, he is the only one I feel that is truly doing well.
Just because somebody is well liked and posts alot doesn't mean they are going to be good at moderation, its a skill. It's not to be handed out without fully checking if said person can deal with certain issues properly. (This is not the case with QJ atm - see PS3 section for obvious examples.)
All the mods and admins are just enforcing the rules the original owners put in place and never toke to the time to come back and review with the forum staff to see how they have been working out. We have been doing that job for a few years now but its a bit too much now.
Why does SiteAdvisor stop me and say that **********.net exploits browser security?

Joining is purely up to you but its allot more lax then what it was here.
I'm guessing you did, but did any of you discuss with the admin about sharing ownership with one of the more experienced and skilled users, who has the time to deal with these issues?Quote:
The main forum admin in charge of upgrade's and adding new features just does not have the time to do anything anymore.
