i always used to worry that im not recieving the speed im paying for with my broadband,
but today the strangest thing just occured
i started download visual basic express edition (700MB) in my browser it says its download at (average) 233.6 Kbps but when i go into my routers bandwidth monitoring section (i use ddwrt) its telling me that i am actually downloading at the full speed of my broadband speed which is in fact 2Mbps
could someone tell me whats going on here
Where are you downloading it from?
Just another misconception between bytes and bits
1 byte = 8 bits
Therefore 233.6 kilobytes per second * 8 = 1868.8 kilobits per second which when rounded up would give you your 2 megabits per second
