Oh Kalamity, you dont know how similar we really are. Countless, countless times ive been in that same situation. Being accused of "acting white" from black and whites, some even in my own family. It seems that were all supposed to fit this ignorant mold that the media portrays and if we dont were considered to be odd. At first it used to get to me, now not as much. Now, there was one incident recently where some girl (tries to act ghetto) accused me of 'acting white' and i was already having a bad day and gave it to her full force. I pretty much SHOUTED "Yeah you see, you got a loud f*ckin mouth, thats why no one can stand you, and thats why your boyfriend dumped you for your friend!" And she started crying. Remorse? Not in the least. She got what she deserved.
This stereotypical mold that were 'supposed' to fit is not only insulting, but embarassing. Thats why i feel extremely ashamed when i see black folk fighting in public, or little black kids acting like they have no sense in malls and movies. Because you know what that says? That says "theyre all ignorant animals" and that's not the case. How do you deny a stereotype when the majority of your people enforce it? But i'll cut this short before i start to lecture. I cant help it, i feel extremely strong about the subject.
