You didnt include the target of a bullet... while you hide behind your sword the bullet has large landing target for the average shooter. Believe me... swords make be classical but guns over power them with speed.

Not for self defense... for fun.

Besides, the best tactic for self defensive is strapping yourself up to about 20 sticks of dynomite and hold the trigger about one inch from your finger. Theres no better way to scare off assaulters then threatening to blow him, yourself, and the whole damn city block up into space...
