What do you all think of this sig that I made for someone on a different forum? It is an old sig when I wasn't that good..

what? KDE is the most popular file system, right after gnome...

how can that be hard

all you do is
Open the DVD-drive and put in your DVD. Close it again and wait a second. The DVD and video player (called Kaffeine) automatically loads and starts playing your DVD.

if you have a prom try here http://www.pclinuxonline.com/wiki/PlayDVDs

edit i just loaded a live cd of it

put in a dvd and it works that was so so hard

DVDs you rent or purchase are generally encrypted with a Content Scrambling System (CSS). Strange enough, actually watching your DVD (getting around the encryption) may have certain legal restrictions depending on where you live. So if DVDs don't work, and after checking you aren't breaking local law, just install the needed software (this can all be done point and click) and it'll work.

1) Install libdvdcss2 for CSS so your applications can read the DVDs.

With PCLinuxOS you can install this by opening the Synaptic Package Manager, you will have to be online though. Open Synaptic via Startmenu -> Configuration -> Packaging -> Synaptic. Enter the administrator/root password (on the livecd this is "root") and wait until it gets loaded. It then says "Your package information is out of date". Click on the Reload-button and wait. Once done, click on "Search" and enter "css". If there is a green square in front of "libdvdcss2" then you're good. If not, if it is gray, then right-mouseclick and select "Mark for Installation". Then click on "Apply". More information about installing software can be found on the Installing Software page
