Directx9 is impossible to find, you need ot get it from a game that has it on a disk or somthing, the Demo should have it. try to open the installer again and see if there is a directx option.

you don't need to verify (last time i checked anyway) it should have a link for you to download it without having to verify at all! You might also want to use Firefox or Opera
