So they come over to you/call you and say

"You know you've got a fast PC? Well mine's not working"

They come to you because you most likely no more about PCs then them. The first time anyone asked you for help you should've said you'd do it and then broken the PC, problem solved. Once you've done it once tho then you are the PC support guy.

I like being consulted on electrical appliances, it makes me feel big. Plus I can blame the fault on other people because apparently I am so much superior than any other family member at computers. :)

But that's probably because I sit at a PC all day at work and then go home and am expected to carry on doing the same but for free.
