Figured it was custom Firmware. The DDW firmware for linksys has the same option. To my knowledge only the dlink is the only retail router with this option from the start.

I think I'm also gonna get a high gain antenna kit for it. I'm gonna need it when the addition is put on our house.

WTF? Theres custom firmwares for routers?!? Where can I get one for my Linksys router?

Depends on which router and which version you have. If you are not careful you can damage your router or make it unuseable.
