[Cars] Hey, anyone have issues with their car, leaving a "AC Inverter" plugged in?
Hey all, just a dumb question, as my friends dad said he had this issue, and I think I was starting to on my car.
The past couple weeks, I left my AC Inverter plugged into the cig lighter, no biggie, I always leave something in there, Cell chargers, etc, since when my car is off, the cig lighter is turned off too. It doesnt stay on.
My friends dad said his van was same way, yet the Inverter, just by being left plugged in, drained his battery fully, Even tho it shouldnt have had power.
My car, half a week ago, started having a battery issue.. wouldnt start as quick, kinda like tried couple times, stored power, then start, acted like battery was going bad and not as much kick. So I took it to advance auto parts, who tested it, said alone it read 12V, but when the machine did its test, the sucker DROPPED bad, to like 8V and slowly rose again. The machine said "Replace Battery" time as its still a stock Battery etc. (Carburator works fine, when car is on, all read 14V)
So anyways, was like ****.. almost thinking to replace battery, but not today.
Later, since during the tests I had to unplug it all, turn off fans etc, I left the inverter unplugged.
Next day to today, car starts, no issue whatsoever, like if the issue never was there, which makes me think that maybe my friends dad was right and those inverters, even tho they shouldnt be having power, are killing the batteries.
Anyone else have this issue or can confirm if your a car mech? Thanks.
