The forums have been going extremely slow for me lately. My belief is that the MD Party Room is using up too much of the database. Perhaps delete 20,000 posts?

it hasn't for me but am from britain, maybe that is the reason. everyone that it is going slow for is from america as far as i know. and the md party room should go because it has nothing to do with anything apart from useless spam

Whats slowing down the forums is the 1000+ veiwers, over this side of the pond we dont get it so it must be to do with the traffic in your timescale.

vBulletin is actually good at handling large threads better than most, but it does put strain on the server. I haven't noticed this too much.
Honestly though, who has actually decided to read the whole MD thread from beginning to end? I really doubt anyone does that, so by deleting the first half of the thread you aren't really losing anything and it also makes the kid who is complaining happier.
Then again you could say if it isn't broke, don't fix it, and it clearly isn't broken for most of us.

Stop whining. One out-of-control thread isn't going to bring down the forums.
It's probably your crappy internet connection or the way your provider is routing traffic. Or the number of users on your local DSL/Cable modem circuit.
Or solar flares from the sun. Or someone put bad voodoo on your computer.
Or you're running way too many apps at once. Or you're zapping all your bandwidth with illegal music/ROM/ISO downloads off bittorrent or file sharing apps.
In other words, it's not the forums it's just you.
