Hey all, finally.. my old laptop from germany kinda crapped out is my guess... I looked at it, everyone else did in the house, and we are good with them. (Boot it up and it could freeze, or moment it went into XP it locks up.. reinstalled RAM, formatted disk etc.. )
Its a Mitac PC.. nothing fancy.. only a crappy S3 gfx card anyways...
Anyways my CURRENT desktop specs are
http://www.darkmystics.com/DxDiag.txt so you can get a idea.
My NEW laptop I ordered is a Dell. Which bought out Alienware as most know. Been happy with Dells and they upgrade easy enough.
The one I customized for the buck was these specs.

I am not used to the new Intel Duo Processers.. I know that means it has 2 processers.. which I would guess means I can run Windows 64-bit or Vista now? Correct?
Also how would you rate that processer? Better then a P4? They didnt have AMD 64 options.. so figured it should be nice since its not a crappy celeron. Just wanted to confirm this is nice and it means I could do 64 bit in the future with the right OS.
Next off.. Overall, who has used the laptop audigy? I heard about it and I use it in my desktop, comments?
X1400 ATI sounds nice.. wonder if its better then my desktop 9600XT AiW?
I couldve upgraded to the SXGA+ for 80$ more on a LCD panel.. but not sure if I need it really.. would I really want 1600 res vs the 1200x800 Ill get now?
Im used to 1024x480 on a 14 inch non widescreen.
Basically looking for comments in what I got here.. I checked the options best I could for the money, made sure I got decent gfx and sound since it wouldve been STUPID to get stuck with a intel gfx card... >.>
Anyways Im happy.. Finally a laptop that is comparable to my desktop. (Normally.. I had a bad habit where if I favored one PC over a laptop or vice versa.. I Had THAT pc run 24/7 and do everything, in this case, sure sual processers is nice.. but not sure by how MUCH nicer it is.. my Desktop is a 2.1 GHZ AMD 3000+ system. Would you say my laptop is really gonna run faster?
Hell... BIGGEST question is.. would it run the Sega Saturn Emu.. which REQUIRED a P4 or AMD 64 CPU due to certain hardware inside to make the emulation work right.
Anyways advice, input, feedback and tips will be nice.. 1st time getting a dual processer.. so I am not sure if this is indeed 64bit now I can have or what I can expect with this all. Or.. more like what abilities I can do MORE now with them... heard people running 2 tottally seperate things etc or controlling one CPU over the other etc. Thanks. =)
