Wow i never knew how much dell didn't know!
My problem is is that my computer is overheating and the power supply is only 305 watts. Also, i just bought a ati radeon x850 video card which requires 350 watt power supply. me, being cheap, wanted to have them replace it for free since i paid like $200 for extra warranty.
So im on the online chat and she says:
"The other option could be the video card, you can replace the video card with the high end video card."
So right away im like WTF?!?! After she said that, i said something like "well i just bought one and thats one reason why i want the replacement"
So then she says this:
"I would suggest you not to use this video card on this system, as it would harm the functionality. The system do not support the high end games , that's why it gets heated up."
So you want me to buy a replace the crappy vid card with a high end, then play no games with it???!?!? And how does a P4 3.0GHZ w/HTT and 1.5gb ram not handle games? Come on lady, ive been playing source for 2 years on this crap even when it had 512mb ram.
Then she goes on telling me that any power supply over 305 watt would not be compatible and the computer cannot handle the load. Well then i owned her when i told her that last week i had bought a 500watt supply and it worked. But, i returned it cause dell uses some funky adapter to get it to fit. So, it didnt fit correctly and was making a weird sound.
Im still on chat with her and ill update you guys as to what happens...
Btw, can a high power wattage PSU do this?:
"IT can burn the system sockets due to high power watt "
