I can't be the only member here that goes to festies in the summer, so how was yours?
I was at Leeds Festival this year, and despite what was initially a slightly disappointing lineup, I had a great time, how could I not the greatest live band in the world played, Muse. I'm not joking around here either, Muse closed the festival and they crapped over every other performance, they were just so damn good, easily the best gig I've ever been to. The pouring rain and mental crowd didn't hurt either, a 50,000 person mosh and singalong to "Plug in Baby" in the pouring rain is hard to beat.
Outside of Muse I saw a few other decent bands, Franz Ferdinand really rose to the challenge of headlining one of the days and Maximo Park were great in the tent as well and this is after seeing them 7 times previously. Other highlights include Wolfmother, The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs (who I wasn't a big fan of previously ), Feeder (a great festival band), The Futureheads.
Disappointing bands would be The Arctic Monkeys who produced some very enjoyable singalongs but they were just very uninspiring and seemed intimidated by the main stage and Panic! at the Disco. Panic! just didn't seem a very good live band and came off very timid which was probably not helped by the fact that the lead singer was knocked out by a bottle of piss at the sister festival in Reading, the day previously.
Overall a very enjoyable festival though, and we had great fun trying to find our imaginary friend "DAVE!" and getting mortal drunk playing 21.
