(Rant) Nintendo can officially go f**k themselves
I (like many others) bought my Gamecube for one reason: Zelda games. There were a few (and I mean few) other games worth playing, but Zelda was the only game that I went out of my way to get on launch day. Upon hearing the news that Twilight Princess would launch on the Wii, but delayed for the Gamecube, I wasn't all too bothered--I figured I could wait an extra month, and still not have to buy a Wii while its rediculously overpriced (and yes, $250 is way too much for that peice of hardware).
With finals week in full swing, I decided to put off getting Twilight Princess until the weekend. Unfortunatly, I never thought that they would be GONE by today. Nintendo, in their attmept sell their overpriced Wii, produced Twilight Princess for the Gamecube in limited quantities. People like to ***** about how Sony and Microsoft are shafting consumers, but that is by far the nastiest play I've seen in the video game industry in a long time. The thing that pisses me off the most, is that TP was DEVELOPED for the Gamecube, but was ported to the Wii only to sell more Wiis.
This is a more underhanded move than both Sony only allowing PS1 emulation on the PSP for PS3 owners, and Microsoft making the PC version of Halo 2 Vista only--and I don't own a PS3 or a Vista-capable computer.
Well, that was a fun rant. I'm going to play some Gears of War--make myself feel better.
