Purely a curiosity question.
I do, except i still have to learn some code, i'd rather be a beta tester anyway. :P

I get the best feeling in the world when you say hi or even smile at me, because even if it's just for a moment, I know I've crossed your mind.
i would but i really dont like coding..
Already am, despite being determined not to in my educational path. It does beat changing oil for a living.
i do.....i need to learn C tho
I want to, and I'm determined to become one also.
In the future, once I'm older and go to school for this kind of stuff, I will want to.
I will need to learn what language these games are in and study it for about a year, Then take any college course related to it and maybe work for sony and find out their encryption key and release it under a new username! zOMG!
I wish that would happen....
I will eventually. Really want to work for Insomniac if they're still around.
If you ever need me, you can contact me at **********.net.
but I really need to learn more.
I do. Doesn't have to be game related though. Hopefully some profit will be made soon enough ;)
@Anti-QJ, Most big games are made in C++. Take a look here and you'll see most big companies require a strong knowledge of it: http://www.gamedev.net/gamejobs/defa...occupationid=4
@Samstag, what's your exact profession? Software engineer?
i would love to but i am still thinking if thats what i should do
(have no clue about job security)
%chrono trigger%: How old are you?
A really good question . But its hard to answer.
What are we doing these for? Fun? Duty? . Well I do it as a hobby and I know that a lot of other devs here do it for the same reason. We all have a destiny and I say/think that I'm going in a good direction .
This will always be a hobby for me and I still haven't thought about what am I gonna do for the rest of my life. But I guess I have to start thinking any soon.
i know a little of c/c++ and a hint of lua
I would probably want to...I just need to learn more about coding and whatnot...hard work!
Okay, I can't be sure how the job security will be in 2-4 years in the industry but at present it is pretty stable. Staff turnover at the good/large companies are pretty low so job security is pretty decent at the moment. As long as you are good at your job, then you should be fine.Originally Posted by %chrono trigger%
I would like to become a programmer. It doesn't really matter for what.
Programming for games would be at the top of my list but it isn't the only thing that needs to be programmed now adays. Security software and maybe firmwares for other devices would be interesting to program.
It would be alot of fun to work with people who like doing the same thing as you and can actually understand what the hell you're saying.
Seriously, I know everyone heres remember one time where they started explaining something "technical" and people just stared at you.

Being a programmer is my dream job :)
I'm only 13 though, but I am learning c and c++.
I know more about c++ for windows.
with about 5 years experience by the time I graduate, I think I could do it.
(also I'm a geek. )
I would rather be a doctor or a guitarist. I just dont see my entire life staring at source code. I code as a hobby not as a career.

I'm already an adult, but I don't want to spend my life programming. I'm working as hard as I can to reach my dream of becoming a scientist... but don't ask me why I want to be one...
