It was a complete success. Why's that disappointing?

If they succeed with the actual thing in october, this could be the next stage in producing energy and fuel, no pollution, more energy and the only thing that could go wrong (1/50000000 chance) is a black hole being created, and doing something.. I dunno, but great news :D
Should be an interesting few months. They're intending to actual get onto proton collisions before they switch it off for the winter, if that all goes well then there'll be full power collisions early next year.
Sort of ironic your name is Black_hole, huh? lol
Also, check out the google logo.
What the hell is with the black hole crap? If a black hole was made, it would be so unbelievably unstable and small that it would simply disintegrate... resulting in absolutely nothing happening.
@Slasher
lol
@Moose
people just don't want to risk the chance.
ps. my friends was telling be how they was going to split, or send atoms to the moon see how it was made.
Can anyone tell me if this real or not?
They heard it on cnn today.
also can you link the information?
Yes, but the atoms haven't collided yet. It will take several months for the machine to reach full power, and then they'll smash the atoms.
Also backing yourself up against this "black hole will disintegrate" stuff isn't necessarily something I'm keen on doing. People seem to believe this simply because 'Stephen Hawkings' said so. Its never been observed...ever. So there's really no definite way of knowing for sure that the black holes will infact disappear. You know Stephen Hawkings is human too, he could make mistakes.
Well, hypothetically how long would it take for a substantial black hole to consume the earth? Would we be informed of our remaining time?
...I'm pretty sure this won't happen, but its an interesting thought to consider.
after LHC turns on earthquake hits japan and indonesia 6.9

iran had a quake too 6.1

quake in chile 6.0
all in the same day
I'm sure just turning a machine on caused earthquakes all over the world. Just from turning it on. Really, it's true. I swear. They didn't even have to do the actual experiment and collide them which was what the fear was of, all they had to do was turn it on and cause chaos, I swear it's true.

I think the first collision well be oka.
All my friends are like "oh noose" I didn't do everthing in my life yet.
lol
I wounder...
Why there not doing the full power collision till next year...
The first collision is an test?
Even after one collision they well need repairs after there done.
In my opnion, also im at an Library fell free post links and videos.
*I hate my computer, now the internet dosn't work ,Im glad im getting an laptop this year*
They're not in a hurry to do the full power collisions because they don't know for absolute certain what will happen. So they're planning a collision this year before they shut it down for the winter, this gives the machine time to cool down and time for them to analyse the data they collect.
And why do you think they'll need repairs?
note:
'full power' and 'high energy' don't mean the same thing.

oh I was woundering what happen to my thread.>.>

What the difference, an a collisions?
Everthing is the same about it right?
Anyone seen the [email protected]?
Wate how is even possible collect data from every computer?
Isn't that agesnt the law or something?
are they plaining do this more then two times?
I think 2-3max! is the limit on this :/
Thats going 2 far its annoying enough logging into msn everyone messge me saying " the world is gonna end":/
*alsoThis is the way the world ends" Halo 3 qoute lol found it an aol comment:ROFL:*
Yeah they spent $5billion just to run it twice.
You mean [email protected] And why would it be illegal for them to collect data that you have volunteered to generate for them. If you want to help them out then install it, if you don't want to help then don't install it. It's simple.
Oh...I tought they wore useing it without permission. sorry about that >.<$5billon to run this twice??!wow..Im suprise, there might not be an 3rd, or 4th time at all.I can understand 2 runs for testing but the 3rd might need to be last if it cost this much...*lol, I been up really early this morning sorry kinda tried, if my post don't make much sence.>.<*
