A little question
I have a science project for the week and it involves analysing the reaction times of chemicals when changing the concentration of a certain chemical.
My teacher said there was a way to incorporate physics into this experiment, my objective is to figure out how to increase reaction speed. However, I dont want to do something simple like use a catalyst or heat up the beaker.
By the way this idea has to feasible because my school is supplying the equipment.

Are you reacting two fluids or a fluid and a solid?

two fluids
Sodium Thyosulphide(or something like that) and hydrochloric acid and water (to slow down the reaction). The water HAS to remain there by the way.

If you can't change the concentration, temperature or use a catalyst increasing the pressure is the only other way I can think of changing reaction speed.

I doubt pressure would be possible to change without complex equipment ?
And btw what would have been the difference if I used one solid. Because that may be something I could change.

If you are using a solid the finer you grind it the faster it will react. So pebble size material wouldn't react as fast as the material ground into a powder.

I've just done this.
Is it the one where you have to wait and see how long it takes for the X on the paper to dissapear ?
And it's Thiosulphate.
Wait.. How old are you? I've done this and i'm 14.
