Wasps growing bigger?
Okay well since this is sort of bio I thought I'd put this in the science section.
But is it me or are wasps evolving into bigger creatures?
When I was younger I remember them being much smaller than bees, wasps would be about as long, but far more skinny where bees would be pretty wide.
Over the last few years though the wasps I have seen are not only longer, but getting a lot wider as well. Now it could well be my imagenation but I think it's possible that due to the changing nature of our world that wasps are growing larger.
Thoughts on this, and has anyone else noticed. And don't confuse bees with wasps

Probably a coincidence, or your mind fudging with you...
Although, one has to wonder why you're crazy enough to get close enough to wasps, and examine their size. If I saw a wasp, I'd run like a little b*tch...[B]Girl, just call me the gamecock, because when you beat it on hard, you get the special ending.
They call her a ho, and you hope to god it was true...
'Cause see, a ho f*cks everybody... And a bitch f*cks everybody but you.

Last year we had a nest in the roof and I'd wake up each morning to see 3 or 4 buzzing around my room

We had a nest in our roof last year and they didn't seem any bigger to me.
Zitat von CaptainGingerbeard
More resilient to wasp killer though. We treated that nest 4 times before the *******s eventually died or left.
I've noticed that Bees are getting darker, hardly any yellow at all on any of them that I've seen lately.

Zitat von BigSanFrey
Also; Aren't bees, wasps.. everything of that nature dying off?
There's supposed to be this thread that bees will die and with that, humans and the rest of life (because of the effects).
Or at least it was promised last year...

We're hardly in danger just because they die off. It'd just change our food supply.

Don't bees pollinate pretty much all plants that need to be? I'm pretty sure it would be a bad thing if we had a shortage of bees.

I've launched an all out campaign against bees and wasps. I've been stung like 7 times, but I've felled countless troops.
Victory will yet be mine!Meh.

well i heard that theres less bees now due to our cell-phone signals disrupting their to use there antennas to return to their nest.
and thats pretty bad considering they are a very important pollinator. there are others too of coarse but these are one of the top ones.

I got stung the other day, not in the eye though, thankfully. I saw a bee today and I did think it looked bigger than normal. Maybe there is a new race of obese bees?

In first grade our class was walking in a state park on a field trip, some one kicked a log which had a hornets nest in it. I was stung 9 times, but the highest in the class was around 21.

My wife and son have butterfly plants and every year around summer time, they are caring for the caterpillars and watch them grow and change into a butterflies. Anyway my son sometimes will watch the caterpillars from inside the house. One day, my son became upset when he saw a wasp was attacking one of the caterpillars. I didn't know wasps liked eating them?!? Needless to say, my son hates wasps after seeing that.
