I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to put this thread, but for the sake of discussion in the science forum - after all, he did contribute lots of scientific hypotheses in his many works - I suppose some of you guys might want to know:

Michael Crichton, of Jurassic Park and The Andromeda Strain fame, has died at the age of 66. He unexpectedly died last November 4 due to cancer.

A moment of silence please... sniff

Now I'm not much of a Crichton fan, and the only book of his which I've read from cover to cover was Sphere, back when I was around 12 years old (yeah I've already been a geek at that young age). Up to today, it's still one of my fave reads. Though I can never say that I'm the biggest Crichton fan, I've always respected him as an author, for his craft in posing convincing what ifs in the realms of science, medicine, and history.

He will be sorely missed.

I know you're out there, dude. Rest in peace...

I never read his things(except for watching Jurassic park which I'm sure almost everyone has watched) but I may look into it now.

I hope he Rests in peace
