Book recommendations

I'm glad to see this type of forum being opened. I've been a rabid space buff for most of my life. I didn't really know what to post to get things going in here, so I figured I list of a couple of books that got me hooked years ago. If you haven't read these, they come recommended by me.

"A Brief History of Time" - Stephan Hawking


This is probably the most read and commemorated book about space and theoretical physics ever made. It's also arguably written by the world's best mind since Einstein.

"Hyperspace" - Dr. Michio Kaku

Michio Kaku is one of the leading pioneers in superstring theory and has been at the forefront of this revolution in modern physics. With Hyperspace , he has produced a book for general readers which conveys the vitality of the field and the excitement as scientists grapple with the meaning of space and time. It is an exhilarating look at physics today and an eye-opening glimpse into the ultimate nature of the universe.

Those are related to space how, somewhatnoob?

The only book related to space that I know of is the wonderful book quoted on my sig. Sure, it's fiction.. but it's great! Too bad 2010, 2061, and 3001 are all too-science fictiony and weird (not 2010 as much though).

BTW: Abe, I saw you viewing the page, trying to get the first post in the forum. But I was 10 miutes or so too quick. I made a rushed post just to be the first ;)
