Theory
Ok I remember a while back reading something about how the universe started where all of the matter in the universe was gathered into a single point and then released all over, if this is true or something similar to it then that means that the universe is always going to end up the same no matter what, if this theory is actually truth, then this could be the billionth time you have read this theory. Any thoughts?

There are only two possibilites: Fire or Ice.
Either the universe will keep expanding as it currently is or it will eventually reach a point where the gravitational pull from the center of it is strong enough to stop the expansion and reverse it. If it keeps expanding, then over time, galaxies and all that is in them will become so far apart and so desolite that everything will eventually burn out and keep cruising in an outward motion. The other option of course being the most destructive event immaginable, where the universe slowly bounces back to a central point and galaxies begin colliding and detroying themselves.
As of right now, we are still expanding and there are opposing points of view as to what the outcome might be.
Only time will tell. It will either be "The Big Crunch" or "The Cosmic Whimper."

That was just a theory that I thought of real quick, but if the universe bounced back to one point wouln't it create a new one?

I was just thinking that, that's an interesting thought.

We'll never know though, because we'll be crushed

Our universe will bounce back when it hits it's walls, the walls being the walls of the nucleus of an atom becuase our entire universe is inside an atom of another universe :P

Yeah I always wondered that. There has to be something for it to expand into.

why duz it have to? if the emptyness is unlimited then it will expand forever. our minds are only capable at thinking on one level so so we will never know relly.

There's a third possibility actualy. If the amount of matter in the universe is just the right amount the force of gravity will eventually be enough to stop the expansion of the universe but not to pull the universe in, thus the universe will reach a constant size and stay that size forever.
Zitat von Abe_Froeman
Back on topic, yes it is possible that if the universe crunches up and the big bang happens again the universe will end up exactly the same. Theoretically seeing as there are no outside influences when the universe starts the big bang should be exactly the same everytime, but it is impossible to know for certain. Some things that happen at the start of the universe may be down to pure chance, for example if the big bang ever happened again there may be more anti-matter than matter particles created and we'd live in a anti-matter universe instead. Even if the creation of the universe is exactly the same everytime, it doesn't mean our lives would be the same. Humans are unpredictable and could make completely different decisions in identical circumstances.
Basicaly, what you say could happen (I personally think it is the most theorecticaly plausible and likely) but there is currently no way to find out and perhaps there never will be. As with most things in life, it doesn't affect you so don't worry about it.

The universe isn't really expanding, as we know of the concept... I mean, we only observe 3 of its dimensions. Scientists argue over the exact number it has, but the common choices are 11 or 23. We only see it as expanding because it's unfolding in these three. We're blissfully ignorant of the other ones

And before you go on about time being the fourth dimension: it's not. Time isn't a dimension. It has no way of being measured against the other dimensions. Its speed can only be measured against itself - e.g. one second per second, which is a useless definition.
Anyways, the universe expands into a membrane defined by its shape and position in its other dimensions. Which we can't observe without some sort of mechanical assistance, anyways.[I fail @ life]

which brings up a question, if you get sucked into a black hole, where would do you go?

hmm... like i said before we will never know for sure. anyway, who belives in paralell universes then? that every disission we make creates an alternitive universe. and another thing that facinate me is peoples that say they have seen ghosts. if its true that they have seen a something close up, looking like a human or suddenly traveled back in time a here back again.i think it is glitches in time. that every segment of time will allways exist where it once was and if somehow we manage to replay that segment it will be as if we have seen a ghost. it shoows that the laws and dynamics of the world are fragile and not prefectly intact. ( lol, i hope you undersdtand what i just wrote...

You know, being a PSP3D moderator isn't something I'd boast about. In fact, I'd probably try to hide it incase someone found out and brought shame upon my family.

Young Jin-Sheng you must learn the way of the Open Plam, not that of the Closed Fist...

Why is being a PSP3D moderator bad?

Being associated with PSP3D in anyway is bad. Open palm, closed fist...is that a euphermism?

I think i may have an answer to everything:
1. learn to lucid dream
2. get good at it
3. have an astral prjection (where you basicly leave your physical body)
4. with your spirit, fly to the ends of space, or get sucked into a bacl hole, and come back to us with answers ;)
Side note-astral projections are real[SIZE="4"][CENTER]Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May

I strive to do nothing but bring honor back to PSP3D. Hence, I silence the babbling masses and separate the wheat from the chaff.
