Time Travel...Possible! (well kinda) (theory)
It is a commonly known fact (correct me if im wrong), thats space is infinate...that means, an infinate ammount of stars, an infinate ammount of planets, therefore an infinate ammount of planets with me, doin exactly the same thing on them...so there are an infinate ammount of planets with the world as it was 1 minute ago, and so on...so technically time travel (to the past) is possible IF and only if we manage inter-galactic travel...(simply find a planet that was like ours say...200 years ago...travel there...annnnd bingo!...obviously, changing things there wouldnt effect our reality...but meh
)
this is simply a theroy...and has alot of "holes" in it so feel free to point any out
thanks for reading

What?
Space is not infinite.
This is not time travel, whatever it is, it wouldn't work.

i agree!...i was just basing my theory around commnly known belief , but i do agree with you, space isnt infinate...it couldnt be...on the other hand...what would it mean if it wasnt??? we are in some greater beings box? (or ne other chape for that matter)

Ok, we know that the universe started off small (the big bang).
Now the universe has existed for only billions of years, if the universe was infinite it would mean that it started off small and in the billions of years it expanded to an infinite size.
That would mean that it expanded at infinite velocity, which is not possible.

this is gonna sound really weird...but like my theory, your theory is based around a posibbly wrong theroy (the big band THEROY) lol

Yeah, do a search for some of my older posts. I used to time travel all the time.
Course all that wandering around the universe is bs. There's a much easier way, and you're only worry is getting lost somewhen.

Willy, I urge you to stop making these stupid posts, you get nothing but a foolish look when you post these...
Learn some science, and answer your own questions...And at least TRY to type correctly.

What I think is your trying to describe M theory. So the better way to say it is that there are paraell universes. That exist in these bread shape membranes that have "slices of bread" that are paraell universes. These univeses could be right in front of us but we can not see them. Also this can explain the big bang. The big bang be cause by two membrans hit each other. This could happen may time over and over.
Please correct me if I'm wrong I trying to remeber this from a lecture in science a few weeks ago.

Yeh, that's part of string theory. Which is in no way right.
Personally I don't think it is.

Hey it's just a theory. That all most things are, and will be. I thinks it one of the better theorys.

Why should I waste my time posting about inaccurate science crap on a forum that started on the psp...and I doubt most of the users here are even semi-competent in any science field.

To many factors to consider in time travel. Remember that planets and everything in the universe are in constant motion, moving through said universe.
So, in theory, if you were to travel through time chances are you would end up in the void that is space. Earth would not be in the same spot at your chosen time.
I kinda like the time travel theory from Donnie Darko. It makes the most sense to me. If you travel fast enough on your own center of gravity, then in theory you could travel through time. (or something like that)Geändert von Alosis (12-15-2006 um 06:34 PM Uhr)

Travel fast enough on your own center of gravity? What does that even mean?
Zitat von Alosis
People really need to get the idea that going fast will fling you through time out of their heads.
-
12-16-2006, 11:42 AM #23
If I remember right it theory if you move fast enough could travel throught time, but you really can;t say untill there come up with a correct theory of the universe.

You get something huge, I mean HUGE, the world.
Spin it so fast that everything on it falls off.
Then stop the spinning thing.
Then the thing that you were spinning, now stopped, goes back to the time it started spinning.
So the Earth could be a Time Machine.
My old Physics teacher told me this, but this has been noobified.http://i28.tinypic.com/1znoljt.png
