I have an iPhone 3G, and recently, I downloaded the latest version of iTunes (v8.2.0.23). When I connect the iPhone, I get the following message:

"An iPhone has been detected, but it could not be identified properly.
Please disconnect and reconnect the iPhone, then try again."

Has anyone had this experience? I turned the phone off/on, and tried rebooting my computer, but no luck. Any suggestions? TIA.

do you use the usb?

This is a month old, and you HAVE to use a usb for that message to even show. Anyways if your still experiencing this, it's because your iPhone is jailbroken and the new iTunes doesn't support it, it does now however.

Try to re-install the itunes.
