Default Tower defense game Defender Chronicles now on App Store

Another tower defense game for the iPhone and iPod Touch has just made its way to the App Store. This one's called Defender Chronicles: Legend of the Desert King and it's from developer Gimka Entertainment and publisher Chillingo.

The game tells the story of the kingdom of Athelia, currently under siege by an army of orcs and the undead. You must install berserkers, rangers, halfings, mages, warriors, and archers along the streets and paths through the kingdom to stop those advancing monsters. Every so often, a a big boss monster such as an ogre comes along. You have to kill them too.

The game features 5 hand-drawn battlegrounds sporting a side-view perspective that will allow you to zoom in on the action. Each defender has its own unique ability. You can choose from 5 different game modes as well, including campaign, freestyle (random), extended, classic, and classic extended. There's even some voice acting in there.

Defender Chronicles is now available for US$2.99. That's just the launch price, however. After the first week you'll have to shell out US 4.99 for it.
