Sprite Designing/Testing/Creating/Animating On the GO!
Greetings QJ folks! I give to you PIXELMAN, a sprite frame strip creator and editor.
This will likely be most useful (at least at this point) for users of PALib (and PAGfx for their graphics) but it's fun to play around with anyway. You can load the .c files output by PAGfx as well as save sprites and palettes in the same format for use in a project. Input/Output of binary files coming in an update soon.
Please check out the readme included in the zip. Basically you can draw a regular sprite of any dimension supported by the DS, change frames, and animate it.
I have tons of improvements planned so keep an eye out. Here's its home at forum.palib.info:
Please see teh PALib site link for updates on this software. It's it's home till I set up an actual website at some point.
The most noteworthy change (besides some new drawing tools) is the sprite testing arena that is really intended to make this app do what it was intended to do. It's basically a place you can load in a few sprites and map out a control scheme for the dpad and abxy buttons so they can run animations, move the sprite, etc...
Added binary save and load.
Added Restart button to options.
Added ability to have pixelman folder other than on the root of the card.
Added some failsafes so you can't load invalid files.
Combined Transparency color change with Palette color change (being on color 0 changes transparency).
