This is a discussion on video of a guy beating mario64 in 20 mins! within the NDS News & General Discussion forums, part of the NDS Chat category; http://www.spikedhumor.com/media/238/smb64.wmv...
Most likely fake. I've sen a video of a guy beating Super Mario Bros. 3 in six minuites, but he used emus and roms and it took him some housand tries. It looked real but the clock was messed up.
EDIT: Tis a fake. Check this out
That's SM64 for the DS. Now, if you remember, he caught a bunny and it got him a star, but the bunnies were only in the DS version, right?( if not, I'm sorry, it's been years since I've played the 64 version). Well as you can see, the screen has lakitu (or whoever that guy in a cloud is) in the ocrner next to a camera, just like in the 64 version, but not like in the DS version, plus, the saving is different than the Ds version.
Before someone flames me, I'm going to go play the N64 version after I finish watching the video. Even if it is the N64 version, didin't it take longer to save than it did in the video?
Cool--would have been cooler had he not used glitches
Very cool, even if it gets proven as a fake he's still a damn good player.
I can't seem to view it
EDIT: got it
I tried out some of the stuff. In the first bowser level, you really can long-jump that far (I didin't believe it), The stairs glitch (After you get the second bowser key) works, I didn't try the endless stair glitch, and I didn't find any bunnies in the basement. Can someone try this out? I don't think there are bunnies in the N64 version, but maybe I didin't look good enough?
No bunnies in the N64 version.Originally Posted by AquaFusion12345

im pretty sure i remember my cousin catching a bunny in the basement of the n64 version
in fact, i also remember that ****er was hard to catch
edit: i dont believe it's there from the start, i think you need to do something else before it shows up
yeh there was a bunny, i forgot what you have to do to make it appear and it is very hard to catch (for me atleast).
yeah, there are bunnies in the basement... I had seen this Video about 2 months ago, and got this strange urge to play Super Mario 64... and yes, I explictly remember there being a bunny...
Girl, just call me the gamecock, because when you beat it on hard, you get the special ending.
They call her a ho, and you hope to god it was true...
'Cause see, a ho f*cks everybody... And a bitch f*cks everybody but you.
This video is NOT fake. About the bunnies, they did exist in the N64 version. However i think there only was one, in the basement, and he apperared if you have gotten more than about 15 stars (dont know exactly). He gave you a star if you catched him. In the DS version. There were lots of bunnies and they all gave you mini games.
If you think that this is the DS version. Come on. The graphics is waay hotter in DS (well maybe not but at least bowser)
And about cheating. It is possible to slow the emulator down but i havnt't heard of any emulator for N64 that will allow you to use save states to edit a recording.
But it doesnt matter, the purpose of the video is to show you the glitches (and they do exist) and how to use them to sequence break the game.
yeah i also remember a bunny in the game, took me hours to catch.
but so far this guy is awesome. it would have had more of an effect if this was shown to me two years ago.
OMFG THIS GUY IS AWESOME. that was insane.
Freakin. Awesome. Video......... only..... hes a CHEATER!..... the thing with the stairs saved him from getting another 60 stars.... very cheap..... anyways cool glitches
it doesnt matter if he used glitches - fact is, to be able to put together a video like that you need to know all the glitches and secret stuff - and the only way to do that is to play the game to absolute death - he may have employed a bit of sneakiness, but he's bloody good at that game nevertheless!
...if it wasn't for physics and law enforcement, i'd be unstoppable...
On a simualr note, i can beat LoZ:LttP within 2 hrs on my GBA.
"God and the pigeons are one. Trust the pigeons" -Killer7
"can it kill the grimace?"
"NOTHING can kill the Grimace"-Clerks-the animated series
Bunny shows up in the basement after 15 stars and 50 stars. This video IS real, but he still could have used an emulator and caught it in editing (i'm betting thats likely), but still cool none the less.
i believe this is real and not emulated
i've seen alot more impressive speed runs
I've got a freak of a friend who did it in something like 23 minutes, so it's not impossible. You just need to have no life besides video games, like he does. ^_^
yall thinks hes so hot huh... well guess what i can beat super mario 64 in a week beat THAT!!!!!(sarcasm)
I'm soo hot

Amazing this guy is my hero it took me 6 months to beat that game :shifty:
omg, that jumping and wall climbing were pretty cool, not even i could do that, and i still havent beaten the game without cheats. :shifty:
Anyways... how did he do that stair thing? i wanna try tht sometime.....
The bunny was in 64... Little *** was hard to catch..
You know that wasn't his first time right...?Originally Posted by surge1289

Wow this guy is amazing at this game...knowing when to burn himself on the lava was insane. Using glitches, although is cheating, is awesome in itself to skip those levels.
I wish i could do that
heh i've seen fallout 1 in 14mins i believe. Basically the guy had all the speech dialogs mapped out so all you would have to do is hit the numbers in a sequence...quite amazing how little you have to fight in the game :)
And fallout 2 not much longer then that.
They did one on Metal Gear Solid 3!!! Man, I am sooooo jealous. . .
