That's right. I didn't want to finish the review until i beat the game and i finally got around to beating the game, so here's my review:
Metroid prime hunters is the long awaited first-person shooter release of the Metroid series on the Nintendo DS. The story picks up between the 1st and 2nd Metroid games on the Gamecube with a message having been sent out about some ultimate weapon. Samus is sent out to investigate, only to end up racing against six other newly introduced hunters to uncover the secret.
The story greatly differs from the Gamecube versions in a couple of ways. First of all, you start out fully armed and then get grades, rather then starting out with nothing and recovering your upgrades. Second of all, the story doesn't really have a definite storyline; instead, it has you going to a variety of different planets to collect octoliths, which are used to unlock the secret of the weapon. Some perople may like this approach, but many will rather have had a Gamecube version type story.
One of the main focuses of this Metroid game though, is multiplayer. You can play with friends, bots or with people from all over the world using Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection. The game boasts a variety of modes, from standard deathmatch to CTF, each with its own little twists from the metroid series. For example, Capture has you capturing Octoliths rather then flags. You can also play as seven different hunters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. One of the major flaws in the multiplayer is that certain attributes of the characters can be exploited and used cheaply. For example, Weavel can set up an automated turret with half of his body, and then go camp by a health spawn with his other half. Looking past these flaws though, the multiplayer is fun and will keep this game in your DS for weeks.
-Fun and addicting multiplayer that lasts a while
-Short and sweet Story Mode
-Shows what the DS can truly do
-Short Story Mode
-Balance issues in multiplayer
-Your hand will hurt like heck after playing
Really shows off the DS's potential
Good music and sound effects, but will get very repetitive. Voice Chat sounds horrible
The controls are good, but I'd like to have fun not getting Carpal Tunnel next time
Fun and addicting, with great overall gameplay
The story mode won't get you far, but the multiplayer alone will keep you coming back for more
Overall Score: 8.75 (not an average)
Tell me what you guys think please. Also, will a mod please copy this into the review section?
