General Ogame discussion

I've just got firefox. No mods or anything. Also, I do try to some extent to calculate return times, but because my planets are quite spread out the best I can do is have everything arrive within about 30 minutes of each other. So far, its still proving effective just leaving a bit of a gap, I havn't been raided once since I came back.

I know I shouldn't switch goals a lot, but I've decided to try and build a nanite factory on one of my main planets, Hysteria, because it seems that this is where I'm doing most of my building. Its currently upgrading to level 10 robotics, and I'm now saving to build a nanite factory there; I expect to have it built in about 3 days time. Until then, I don't think I'm going to be doing much to my fleet, which won't be around until tommorow, anyway. When I've done this, building my fleet should speed up a bit, reducing the 72 hour backlogs of 3 planets that seem to occur daily.

u need to get foxgame and neogame. it is honestly a must when it comes to this game. i will be putting up a tutorial in due time for u guys

I have no clue as to what either of those are, though, never mind where to get them. The sooner you make a tutorial, the better. :tup:

Yeah, I did manage to find it on Ogametips.com, but I didn't bother downloading it yesterday. I'm not sure of how useful it'd be to me, but I suppose I might as well have it...

The tools add a little something to the times on the overview that is INCREDIBLY useful; The servertime/Your time when the actions takes place.

And, when choosing how long to send a fleet (percentages), it tells you in that screen the times to gets to the destination and when it comes back, if it does. That's my personal favorite part, tells me when to send a fleet when I'm phalanxing. :D

I take it that 27 ABMs doesn't class as "loads". I can afford to build another 10 right now, and another 1 later, but my silo is full because I'm holding one interplanetery missle. How do I get rid of it? Edit: Got rid of it.

ok fresh because im poorly educated idk what i just gathered from my own checklist lol so i ask you. do you have a moon? if not please take up on adiuvo's offer and get the moonshot. u are going to want a fleet. turtling is fun but i think the full effect of the game is gathered from having a fleet. so get a moon and start making a fleet...ALWAYS FLEETSAVE FROM MOON TO DF --OR-- MOON TO FRIENDS' MOON (acs defend) --OR-- DEPLOY FROM MOON TO YOUR OWN MOON.

If you still want to build a fleet without a moon then just do recall deploy missions where you deploy ur fleet to a planet of your own and let it land at a time AFTER you get on a computer. if u sign on and u see an attacking fleet after you...then recall the fleet to the planet it came from ;)

Acs defense is the stupidest thing you can do. Go check the battle thread for fleet I smashed because some idiot thought the same thing.

Well, it's been a boring week of researching the less fun stuff like weapon/armor/sheilding tech, but now I have them higher than anyone else my level :D

I do have a moon, but I never ever use it. I don't know why, I just don't; and having had a fleet, I think its not really my style of play because it takes a lot of planning, and I can never be on at the times I aim to be. I think I'm best off turtling so that my planet can be left alone and still have adequite protection if I'm not around. Thats my reasoning.

Also, I wanted to ask; how many is a "load of ABMs"? I have 40 now, but i expect I need more. Another thing I wanted to know was, what sort of defences are expected of turtles? I know I'll need a lot more than what I have now, but I don't want to go over the top. I want to know how much defences for my main and colonies, approximate values and types. My third and final question is, do I work on one planet at a time, or try and build them up equally?

Edit: Never mind. I have a good idea what a turtle needs now.

If you didn't get the ABM question answered, 80 is a good amount. However most you can get though is the best.

Keep in mind that whoever wants to hit will need 2 Missile Silos at the same level as yours filled with more-expensive IPMs, so make it ridiculously expensive for people to missile away your defense, then make your big deterring defense. :)

Alright, I'll save up for a few days and build up my silo; although, I think that a level 8 missile silo is still ridiculosy expensive, although maybe not to the higher players. I keep building defenses on my main, spending all I get on them, but now I have a huge que of 5 days worth of stuff waiting to be built, so saving up for a few silo upgrades should do me good right now. I'l planning to get myself 80 ABMs, and then aim for the following:

1,500 RL
3,000 LL
250 HL
100 GC
250 IC
50 PT

I'm guessing that'd be a good defence, as it only takes about 35 Plasma Turrets to take out a deathstar. I expect this to take me a good fews weeks to build, although I might have to stop and build another nanite upgrade if these production lines keep racking up; either that, or use the time to build up on other planets.

I now have 50 ABMs in a level 5 silo, whih I should be able to afford to upgrade to level 6 later on tonight. I was going to ask, is 80 ABMs considered to be quite a lot, or a general sort of amount? I'm willing to build many, many more if I need to, because having my defences wrecked by IMs when I've got thousands of units would probebly cause me to quit again, truth be told. However, if 80 is considered quite high, then I'll stick with just that.

EDIT: Just calculating all the resources going to my planet, and it turns out I'm going to be 65,000 crystal short of building it tonight. This causes me a big problem, as that means having to send all the waiting resources away; something that I don't have enough cargos for. If someone could forward me the 65,000 I need, I'd pay them back the next day, with intrest, or instantly with metal. I need it for 11.00 GMT+00 (in 5 hours 30 minutes), else it'll be useless to me. Any takers?
