what OS is required to run windows using bootcamp on a intel mac? and wats the exact name?

You need windows and mac because you can already run linux on a mac..

nope. you need a specific upgrade for mac os x, i think its available on their bootcamp website

ok this is what it says on apple's site...

"A bona fide installation disc for Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2, Home or Professional (No multi-disc, upgrade or Media Center versions.)"

What the hell is a bona fide installation disc? Also what is the service pack 2?

well, it doesnt have to be "genuine" as i made a copy of a windows CD and installed it

but the copy was of my real windows CD (with a few tweaks) and it installed fine
