it seems only a few higher end motherboards are even supporting DDR3,but the question is,if one was to buy a mobo today with DDR3 memory, would the DDR2 memory be outdated by the time the DDR3 mobo becomes 'obsolete' to the point where you would need an upgrade?
like the the DDR2 1066 really gonna have much of an impact, than lets say,DDR3 1333?
This DDR2/3 question is bugging me on my quest to find the right mobo.
The intel mobos with the x48 chipsets dont support DDR3 unless its like the most expensive one you can find(talkin newegg here),unlike the x38 chipsets that have some cheaper mobos. But then its the question on weather you want the 'newer' chipset or not.
So,x48 with DRR2 vs x38 with DDR3 (the x48 is 25 bucks cheaper, otherwise basically the same Asus board)?
Overall tho,my system design is cheaper with the x48 board becuase the DDR3 memory is more expensive
