they are totally diff
ultimately i would say get both, but css is good for a competitive gamer who likes short but fun battles, while tf2 is for the gamer that is a little more relaxed, wants to play with friends, and has a lot of time free to play a game.

I agree, CS:S is a more serious gamers game, while TF2 is hilarious.

How could you have average close to eight hours per day playing CS:S for the past two weeks? Go outside.

I havent played TF2 tbh, but I've just started playing with Deturb and it can be fun, and so damm frustrating at the same time, as some people are just God like. But yeah download TF2 off steam now so you can play it all weekend.

Nobody gives any love to trackmania... it's free...

Tf2 is really good though, but if you don't have any of the other games in the Orange box you may as well buy it because gamestop is selling it for $29.99 on any system.

TF2 is my choice. It's an amazing game. But if you have a so-so computer, it's extremely slow.

TF2 >>>>> CS:S

CS:S is just a twitch fest where people who play far too long dominate the server by headshotting you as soon as you come around a corner.

Tbh, CS:S takes alot more skill than TF2, and you obviously haven't played any scrims/clan matches on it, there isn't just one server either, lots of different, surf, deathmatch, deathrun, zombiemod, rpg, warcraft3, sliderace, climbing maps, in other words your just crying about being killed.

DON'T FORGET GUNGAME!

TF2 is fun, CS:S is competetive. That's the difference.

CS:S is kind of boring for me. TF2 has a unique art style, is as addictive as CS:S (if not more addictive), and has extremely good gameplay. I actually just played it on my PS3. I'm in love with this game.

I don't think so, you can't really compare the skills needed but theres alot more skills to learn to play TF2 well other than just very fast and accurate aiming.

Played alot of them and they don't really hold their appeal.

No complaining about having no fun at all when being killed by people who know exactly where to aim when they come around every corner and get a headshot before you even get a chance to fire.

Oh, I COMPLETELY agree. I bought the game and tried to play, and everybody just kept killing me. One guy even said through the mic "I don't think this guy has any clue of what's going on." D: If they're that good, then I can't play this.

You kinda need to grow up around it to really get into it. Wait for the next version of CS to be released, then get into it, and you'll atand more of a chance.

Yes, if you wanna be good you need to practice, not cry about it, CS2 will be released after the Half Life 3 (CS2 will run on the same engine.)

How's it play on the PS3? I'm thinking about getting Orange Box, but I heard stuff about framerate issues

TF2 has 9 classes, and is perfectly balanced. Take that, and add in the updates, and you literally can't get bored with this game.

Also, with so many classes to choose from, you can almost certainly find a class that works for you, and be successful. Medic is still my most played class, and I actually ended games with the most points, just healing people.

It's probably a perfect MP game. I don't think it has a single flaw (except that I need to get better).

The patch fixed it up. No lagging unless you have a terrible internet connection.

I played a lot of TF2 last night, and I really got owned. However, it was still really fun and I imagine that after I learn the maps and such I will be a lot better.

I've also noticed that one class is not tons better than the others. Sure, each is best suited to a certain scenario, but a whole team of one class will not survive.

There's enough of a learning curve to TF2, I don't want to have to deal with the CS:S learning curve.

This is a bit off-topic, but does anyone know if the updates are gonna come to PS3, too? I heard they're headed for the 360, and wanted to know if Valve is gonna do the "**** you" thing on us again. :/

I agree to a point that some people just know where to aim as they watch people round the corner, and by the time you see a black shape, you're already dead. But things like Gun Game are actually quite fun. Thats the only thing I really hate about CSS, how long you've played, equals how good you are.

I own both and personally i like tf2 a lot better. I bought cs:s and got killed before i have a chance to shoot with a head shot. Tf2 is a lot easier for newer players to get the hang off especially on instant respawn servers. add me if you want to play. There is almost double the amount of time played on tf2 then cs:s in the qj steam group
