It is a Windows 95 game and all its needs to run is a ati3dcif.dll file and it should work, but i dont think it works because it is powered br 3D RAGE and sort of made by ATi and i have a AMD Processor. ive think ive tried everything to make this game run.

The only possibly way for a processor to make a game incompatible is to be way too old (which i doubt in this case) Or be a different architecture (which its not). The processor isnt the problem and neither is who made the game (and you do know AMD owns ATI right?
The problem is with your operating system. or rather the game is not compatible with your OS. do you need the .dll file or did you find it? give me a run down of your computer and ill see if i can help.

Assault Rigs on Windows XP? Hmm...that's a lot of horsepower for a DOS game (according to Moby Games).
You could try Virtual PC 2007 from Microsoft. As far as anyone would know, that's a free product from the guys from Redmond. Download straight from the Microsoft Download Center. Here, for the download updated to Service Pack 1. It emulates a Pentium II computer (though you can settle for a slower version here - chugs like a 486 DX100 with a 2.4 GHz PC) with ample RAM and hard drive space (you can specify how much RAM or drive space to give), and a S3 Trio 32 card (though for 2007, it's often detected as a S3 Virge 3D card if you give it only 4 MB VRAM to work with). You can upgrade video memory up to 16 MB, and get complete SoundBlaster support with an emulated SB 16 engine. That should be enough to get Assault Rigs running absolutely fine, but try to give your CPU some proper cooling. Virtual PC emulation tasks your PC a lot, multi-core or single-core. |

You need an emulator such as Dosbox:
http://www.classic-pc-games.com/pc/index.html And the game can be legally downloaded from the same site. http://www.classic-pc-games.com/pc/a...ault_rigs.html |

i have the pc game cd and i tried running it under Dosbox and it said something about its a Windows NT program or something. Also virtual Machine and my normal computer had the same error "could not initilize 3D RAGE ERROR: 5000."
So now what? |
