Maybe we can get some threads starting here with users posting their PC's specs.
This is my baby. The first real computer I've actually owned. Its my "technical" second. The first I had was a Toshiba Portege from 1995. 4GB HDD and 64MB RAM, but it was only for messing around with. My brother gave it to me when he got it from a flea market and couldn't figure out the password. lol

I love this thing. It runs most games pretty decently. I haven't had a chance to try Crysis, but I can max out BioShock with little slowdown except when their are a lot of enemies.
I needed a job for my Computer Technicians course I'm starting in September along with a PC for personal use for the next 3-4 years. Most websites class this as a "Desktop Replacement" which is a good in between.
I cannot find any case that will fit this thing. I would prefer a messenger bag style case, but I have to settle with a backpack one.
My brother had a Dual-Core laptop from 3 years ago and that thing ran HOT. My machine runs cool to the touch. Even when playing Left 4 Dead maxed out, the left side under my arm gets a little warm, while the rest stays perfectly cool.
One of the biggest selling points is the CineDash console, the little touch center on the left of the laptop. It allows Play/Pause/Stop/Next/Back/FF/RW/Scroll/Enter along with launching Acer's MediaCenter (looks a lot like Windows MediaCenter). It all works under most players like WMP, iTunes, but not VLC so far.
Battery Life however, is ****. 2.5 hours on Balanced power setting.
Maybe an 1h 25m on Full Power. This isn't a laptop to take on the road though, so it is bearable. I took it along with me on an 2h ride. Set it too low power and just played SNES and NES. Still had 1h and 30m left on it. I wouldn't be playing Halo 2 or anything on the road anyway.
The one I have is one of the lesser spec-ed models in the Aspire 8930G series. Better ones have a 2.26Ghz CPU and a full 1080p (WUXGA+) screen and a 9700M GT or 9800M GT. Those configurations go for about $1700. Mine only set me back $1300.
I dual-boot Windows XP 32bit until I can find the 64bit version. No Linux yet. I had tried Ubuntu but there were no drivers for my modem/sound card as they operate on the same card (winmodem) and the company released no Linux drivers.
When the price of DDR3 drops, I'm gonna upgrade the RAM to 8GB and get another 320GB 2.5" HDD as the drivers and software that come on it (eSoftware, Fingerprint Scanner drivers, etc...) are about 20+ GBs.
No screen, but my avatar is my PC with Benny from Looking For Group I shopped on it (great skills eh? lol)
So what do you guys think it?
