I don't like asking a question in a forum without contributing something first but I am in a very difficult situation. I hope to get some help from someone.
My final exams just finished and I am now able to play games on my good old PC. Its specs are:
-AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+
-NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS(512 MB VRAM)
-2 GB RAM
-Windows XP SP3
I decided to start playing Mass Effect because I don't want to play Mass Effect 2 without any background on the series(Plus, I loved the KotOR series). It had glitches, crashes and other problems but I was able to play it for 20 hours and reach the final part of the game. This is where it gets problematic.
The last part I played was driving the Mako through 4 Geth Colossus on Ilos:Trench Run and being projected to the Citadel for the last time. Then the cutscene plays and the "Loading" screen comes on. After that there are some background sounds(like low sound explosions) but the screen is stuck on the "Loading" screen. After some Ctrl+Alt+Del, I saw that the game doesn't respond anymore. I tried to adjust the resolution down to 640*480(I was already playing at 800*600 with minimum graphic details) but it didn't work. Right now the only solution I can think is to acquire a save file on which the "Citadel: Presidium" part is done and "Citadel Tower: Maintenance Shaft" part starts. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem and/or how I can acquire the afforementioned save file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...
