Which camera do I get?

I'm planning on getting a camera. Mostly to make videos but also take still pictures. I REALLY want a small sleek digital camera. Something like a cyber shot or along that type of design. The thing is, people told me im better off getting a video camera but I don't really like the way those look. I also seen that the video recorder is 640x480 resolution and 7.1 megapixels. Isn't that good enough or should I just get a video camera. I really don't know.

If you're after something to do videos, then get a video camera. You'll regret not buying one just because of the way that it looks when your videos have crappy sound and look a bit... weird :-/

That's my experience of cameras anyhoo. I wanted one for videos and got a Hitachi MV-550. If you do actually want to take stills, see if you can try out some video cameras for the stills they do. Mine was utter wank.

Well I have the psp camera with only 480x272 resolution and 1.3 megapixels and the videos are pretty good along with the pictures even better. I can't imagine a digital camera could be that bad if the psp camera is that good. However, can you point me toward a good video camera which isnt above 250 dollars.
