GIMP Tutorial Challenge-10000 Points

My dad is on the pc(and he can hog it for hours, lol). I am on my psp browser, so to host it on imageshack would be a pain(to copy the link). Right now I am making myself some pc and psp wallpapers. Im really getting the hang of this.

I doubt I will get that good. I am just learning, but its a lot of fun for me. Now time to go back to working on my wallpapers.

im sure with a little practice you could make great pics! :D

the tut is good, but maybe next time add some pics of what you are talking about and a result of what you get whn you finish the tut... :D

ok ill try to write another one thats a little easerer to read. i didnt have my digital camerar when i wrote the guide.

whats that? is it some kind of program that i have to install on my computer. i have never heard of that.

EDIT: i have downloaded and installed print screen. i am gong to write the new tutorial with images and make it a litle easer to understand.

No, the button on the keyboard, it takes a screenshot, then you paste it into the GIMP to use pictures of your screen.

im going to host the tutorial at freewebs.com . i thinkit would be easier to just code it into html then to try to post it into qj.

its not much all i did was add the rain effect but i think it looks kool, even tho the clouds are open and it doesnt seem like it would rain

Double Post Merge

Seriously I think I'm the only person on these forums that uses GIMP (besides you now) and i don't know what Deturb's sig looks like, so I can't make a tutorial about recreating it. If you need any help at all though I can, I think its pretty easy to do web graphics and stuff.

Wait, you just want a tutorial in general? It's so easy! Just use common sense, and when you're not sure what to do, just search in google. The buttons on the right toolbar are more important, sort of, like new layer, visible/invisibilize layer, right click on the background in a new image and click add alpha channel... when you make a new layer of text right click the layer name and click alpha to selection and then you can do all sorts of stuff like cut other things in that shape, or stroke your selection...
I just figured most stuff out on my own.

this is my animated mario sig =P

then the paper mario text 2 seconds
then your name 5 sec
then blank for 1 sec...
also try to do a blend in out effect...

update my cop got a virus and now im on my psp. ill finish the tut when get new comp.
