Hey,
I'm searching for a nice cheap Camcorder that will have good combatibility with the pc, which has a fairly nice picture quality. The price bracket is around £300-400 or in USD about $500-650.
I would like the format to be MiniDV.
EDIT: Brought a Canon MVX460 off Amazon. Hope it was the right choice...

i prefer a camcorder with a DVD instead (or even a harddrive, but those are too expensive right now) since it would be a even simpler to jsut take out the DVD and pop it in the computer
Well we did think of getting a DVD one, but the prices seemed wrong. Not many had good battery lifes (most around 60 mins) and you get around 30 minutes onto a DVD disk, which is a little annoying. The MniVI hold 60 minutes, and the price seemed good.

thats horrible, since most DVDs nowadays are 4.7 GB and they all say they can hold up to 120 minutes
The DVD's used in Camcorders are the 1.47GB ones, which are the small ones (like gamcube).
Mod a CVS/Rite-Aid disposable camcorder. Seriously, you buy one for $30 and you open it up, do some soldering and voila.
There's some on ebay that go for like 80 bucks, I'm serious too, I love mine.

Not much, it's been a while since I've been into the 'scene' of CVS cam modding, but I know they make hardware/firmware updates, but I guess now there's barely any soldering involved because you can buy all the stuff you need on eBay:Zitat:

Good idea with the modding of a camera, but I'm not a strong solderer, also we don't actually have a soldering iron in the house. Plus I'm thinking it's more likely to brake down, and also you can't exactly take it back to a shop if it does break.
