im new to PS plugins

yea im new to the photoshop plugins but im not new to photoshop itself. i just decided the other day to download some plugins but they came with no instructions on how to install them. :google: did not work because all they said was to create a new folder and put the plugin in it. so i guessed i just put it in the root of the photoshop plugin folder (aka x:/adobe/photoshop cs2/plugins/"plugin name folder here") so i tried and photoshop doesnt boot. so i put it in the photoshop plugins only folder and yet the same affect. i tried to :rtfm: and i get no support. and alas i am here asking you guys who have used plugins, how to install them and run them properly.

Far as I know thats where you put them, I've always put them in the plugin folder unless they install them selves.
Check the plugin its self it might be at Fault, try downloading it again or get it from a different source.

thank you, i had DLed over 1,000 plugins so ill try them all. and exaclty which folder did you put them in (like the directory) and what did you do to use em (like go to filter and they are there?) thanks a bunch.

I'm on my mac at the moment so can't be 100% sure but I think its adobe/photoshop cs2/plugins/ as you said in your post, and yes they should automatically appear in the filter menu.
Just look in there and if there are other plugins there then your in the right place. And if you downloaded that many plugins I'd bet alot of them won't be compatible with CS2 anyway.

Don't use all 1000 plug-ins at the same time!
Only use the ones you need!

It'l be hard for him to look through 1000 though, well good luck.

I thought you would just drag and drop the plugin in PS. Someone told me that.
