Paul Holman, the VP of research and development at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), has extolled the virtues of Sony's motion control technology, claiming that its level of precision and accuracy is at least a generation ahead of what is currently available in the market.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Holman said:
It's another generation forward, or even a couple of generations. I know in certain games or applications which are out there, people had to sort of fluff it to make it real for consumers. But this stuff is super-accurate and the impact of that is incredible. I think you have to play with it to realise what it will do to games.
Holman also reassured gamers that everything is still on track for the 2010 target launch, at least from a hardware point of view. Holman conceded that he had no idea as to what and how many games are currently being developed for the new controller, but he did note that they've heard some good feedback and ideas from developers.
