Gran Turismo 5 has been in development for more than three years now, only to find that it's only just 65 complete. Despite getting reprieve in the form of Prologue, GT fans have gone too long without the Real Driving Simulator. Good news - Polyphony Digital big boss Kazunori Yamauchi confirms that the next Gran Turismo will come along much quicker than the fifth did, and yes, there just might be a Gran Turismo 6.
Speaking to Joystiq, Yamauchi explains in a nutshell why the development process took so long. GT5 is a title that was pretty much remade from scratch, but because we did that, the next version is actually going to be faster the time period it s going to be released, he said. But I think when GT5 comes out, we re still going to have things that are left undone, and whether we complete that in GT6, or the next version for PSP, I m not sure yet."
For Gran Turismo 5, it's March 31st for Japan, while an international release has yet to be determined.
