QJ.Net is by far the slowest website I visit [almost] everyday. There are ways to speed the website up.
1. If you are using Apache, you can use mod_gzip or mod_deflate to reduce bandwidth usages, which means faster site loading and room for more people. Before doing this, I would suggest investigating to see if the reason why the server(s) is slow is because of server hardware or bandwidth restrictions. If it is because of server hardware, I would recommend against this, while free, as this method raises CPU/memory usage.
2. Web servers like Apache can be heavily tweaked for better or faster preformance. Look into it.
3. Get another/more servers, faster servers, or find a way to get a server with a faster connection. Make your aim to be to use the above method when doing this. Also consider using Linux if your server is using Windows. I recommend this for stability and speed reasons.
4. Clean up HTML code and images (image compression). This does wonders, but it takes time to do it. If you've ever seen Google's HTML source code, it is practically unreadable--but it serves a good reason. I personally wouldn't go that far, but you get my point.
BTW, it took about 1 minute to load this new thread page... Very strange considering my connection speed, w/ comparison to other websites.
