Electronic Arts is moving ahead with wireless support for four of its upcoming PSP titles. These games will allow players to play via infrastructure mode anywhere they can access a WiFi hotspot connection. So far only two of the four games to support this have been named, Madden NFL 06 and FIFA Soccer 06 with the remaining two titles to be named in the next few weeks. Each title will include head-to-head online play for two competitors.
“Development has not gotten to the point yet to state exactly what features will be supported in each game -- specifically, whether EA's cool "Owned" list will be tracked online instead of just in local play. However, gamers will get a chance to see online play in an EA title soon, as Madden is essentially ready for mastering on PSP and will release this September. In this title, ranking lists, EA Messenger and user leveling will be supported, and we expect similar features to be incorporated at least into the online EA Sports titles, if not elsewhere.”
