[Insert fancy under construction graphic]
There has been a lot going on recently with the forums and I've got some good news and some bad news. The bad news shall go first.
We will not be upgrading the forum immediately. The current staff does not have the resources nor the experience to update the software successfully without significant time and effort (something of which I currently don't have and would rather not chance it). In the next few days you may see some new moderators pop up as I populate the staff to meet the need of the forum as one person (such as myself, who is busy with studies) shouldn't try to manage a forum such as this one.
So basically: We will wait until we have someone who can do the upgrade for us, in the meantime we ask for your patience and hope you will continue to support us.
Now for the good news... I went to lunch and forgot about it :Argh:
We will now be able to focus on your forum requests and see what we can do to improve them. You can take this time to once again offer your forum suggestions (what would you like to see on these forums?). I hope to gain proper administration permissions soon that will allow me to carry out these necessary changes.
What do we have to offer?
As many of you know, this forum thrived off of the success of the PSP and the homebrew community that surrounded it. That community and that success has died down in recent months, but that shouldn't lower our resolve. I personally have a lot of knowledge when it comes to video games and consumer electronics. If you are thinking about making any new purchase that relates to electronics, please ask if you are getting a good deal or not (I made the mistake of paying $100 for a 256mb SD card several years ago when they were just emerging in the market).
Also don't be shy to invite other people to this forum. We have a very open administration now (aka. me on the forums) and I am now able to converse with the active bloggers on the site (GinoD as my frontpage man). They may not be stopping by on the forums as often as you would like, but that's because they have a job to do (post news for you!). As always you can spam my inbox at Justin@qj.net (but really, don't spam).
What's currently going on?
I just finished two exams this morning for two of my classes and have a few more next week so I am open to any suggestions as to what needs to be done. We can certainly relax the policy a bit here, we've been very rough in the past and I hope to eliminate that sense of uneasiness when you want to reply to some "idiot". Just keep your posts civil ;)
PS: I will be reviewing the suggestions from the previous thread but like I said, I'm a busy man right now so feel free to re-post them or inquire about new ones.
