Whoop.
lol i dun do nothing.. and it still works perfectly. but i dont download suspicious stuff, and crap like that, and i use firefox if that helps at all.
I have Norton btw and it detects crap way too late and cant even get rid of half the crap
Windows Anti-Virus (free) and the other Microsoft Protection prgrams are the best I've seen because of great protection, quick scans, and using extremely minimal resources. And, no, just because it's from Microsoft doesn't mean it's really buggy or won't work. Well at least in this case, because the program was originally made by Giant and Microsoft took it over :icon_razzZitat:

Ha! Windows Explorer Beta 2 doesn't even work with Windows Exchange 2003 Outlook Web Access using their own PKI plugin!
Anything with the words "beta" and "Microsoft" in the same title, stay the fsck away from it.
EDIT: Mac minis are cool! I use one at home and keep my MacBook Pro at work for testing. The U.S. Army even uses a stock Mini with 1 GB of RAM and the OS X Server loaded to multicast stream live and recorded audio and video to THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of simultaneously-connected milnet users.
That's right. A Mac MINI! They're sending me another beta unit to test out over here in Europe.
Stay away from it if it has "Mircosoft" in it. It still feels like XP is beta.Zitat:

I have to try that guide to put OSX on a standard Intel PC thats in the Apple forums here
My boss hates coming into my office and seeing me working on my personal MacBook Pro.Zitat:

I just flick my IATO waiver at him and he goes away.
Since the vast majority of our users only use the following:
Office 2003 (Office 2004 for Mac if you're on a Mac)
XP Pro (or OS X if you're me)
Visio Pro (Omnigraffle on a Mac, Visio-compatible)
Project Pro (Omniproject on a Mac, Project Pro-compatible)
Outlook (Entourage if you're on a Mac)
Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition (I don't need AV software on my Mac)
I had to pay for the Omni software out of pocket, but the rest the Army furnished free-of-charge since we have a kick-ass licensing deal with Microsoft.
When patch-time comes around, I never have to worry.
I don't use AV on my windows box either (but I have a hardware firewall), never had a problem.
Linux, hell, I feel so safe on Linux that I run in root :P (doesnt matter though since there's nothing important on there anyway, so if I get rooted it's not too big of a deal)
ok iball i got my mac mini runnin... what are the best programs to use? thanksZitat:

Handbrake Lite (rip DVDs to PSP and iPod format in one step)Zitat:
Zitat von madsoul
Flip4Mac (get it from Microsoft's site...QuickTime plugin that allows you to view WMV files)
Audacity (sound tool)
Camino 1.0.1 (best damn browser on OS X)
FinkCommander (downloads dev packages and the like, but install the Developer tools from the install DVD first)
Google Earth
StuffIt (allows you to unzip and unrar files)
VLC (damn good video player)
Mac the Ripper (rips DVDs into VOB files so you can reburn them onto another DVD for perfect copies)
DekStasy 1.3.6 (DJ tool for all your audio files)
OpenOffice for Mac (Free MS Office-compatible office suite)
But I use the built-in apps a lot...XP has nothing like GarageBand either.
thx for the list! :) il get right on making music... i now have one half dead windows comp and one mac miniZitat:

TO: I doubt anyone would want to hack your forums... probably the result of an unprotected PC. My dad left our van unlocked over night (we live in a nice neighborhood) and overnight someone got into it and stole some money (nothing big). Just don't blame others for mistakes you made, and/or things they did not do.
Your premium membership will stay for now, but why quit developing? I can see Fluff's perspective which is completely legit if you were in his shoes, but you aren't. You have hyped up your upcoming Tux Rampage to just let everyone down and "quit" developing.
About OSx86: I got it running on my old PC and it works fine, except for the resolution issue (can't change, and haven't found a straight forward guide in doing it and having it stay like that uponboot). The ethernet port does not work, but I believe there is a long work-around for that. It is a lot of hassle to get the Mac running fully on a PC, better off buying the real deal, or saving for the real deal
Alright thanks to a talk with Mysticales and others, I will remain a dev...this can now be closed
hmm, seems like windows bashing is the order of the day...
meh, like i care...
ive been using windows for years, and have never caught anything harmful...
what annoys me though, is the fact that idiots who couldnt even handle a calculator properly, bash microsoft and windows because it's supposed to be cool...

Iball.. how is a mac now with the use of bootcamp?
Now that bootcamp is there.. it could be curious to see how a Mac is this day and age.
I should really get a mac mini soon.
I'll miss you in the dev forums, TO. :(
Can't you read mate?
He hasn't quit.

It's one of the fastest Windows XP Pro laptops I've ever seen.Zitat:
Zitat von Mysticales
And with dual core processors, 2 GB RAM, 120GB hard drive, and 256 MB of video RAM, it's a pretty good gaming laptop as well.
He had changed his mind then.Zitat:

Sounds good iball. Wondering how everything is, I heard it has a nice gfx card too. =)
Sounds like running a XP system with a unix backend, also ran better.
Granted.. one day Ill get around to installing xandros 3.0 on a diff PC to play around on more...
